Service Description

This is an immersive "101" introduction on the importance of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA). A site tour experience of an urban farm to understand how we grow food indoors with limited space. Participants will get to learn about: 1. What urban indoor farming is about, why this is necessary, and the relationship between growing local produce and reducing CO2 emissions. 2. Go on an educational urban farm tour experience to understand the setup and modules involved. 3. Crop-tasting of fresh greens and how technology impacts our food security. 4. Hands-on workshop to include seeding, transplanting, and harvesting experience as an urban farmer would. 5. Experience includes a goody bag with micro-greens grow kit + 1 pack of your self-harvested local seasonal greens from urban farm! 1.5 hrs (hands-on workshop + farm tour and crop-tasting) 1 hr (farm tour and crop-tasting only) Note: if >12 participants, group will be split into 2 batches between workshop and farm tour to facilitate immersive experience for all (Minimum 10 participants) (Rates are not inclusive of applicable 8% GST)
